"Badrinath" is one of the most famous Hindu pilgrimage Place in Uttarakhand, India. It is located at the heights of 10,170 feet, lies between the Nar and Narayana mountains on the banks of Alaknanda River.As per Hindi mythology, Badrinath is associated with Nara-Narayana as Vishnu's dual form. It is the most important of the four sites in India's Char Dham pilgrimage and gets its name from the temple of Badrinath. The town gets the name from the Holy temple of Badrinath.At a distance of 3 kilometers from the town is Mana Village which is known as the last village of India.

Main Attractions: -

Badrinath Temple: It is the main temple of the town. Temple is devoted to lord Vishnu. It is situated at the height of 3,133 meter above from the sea level on the banks of river Alaknanda. The temple was constructed in 9th Century by Adi Guru Shankaracharya. The main entrance gate known as the 'Singh Dwara' is one of the attractions of the temple. The temple is known for its Badrinath idol sculpted made by black stone, which is one meter high and depicts Lord Vishnu seated in meditative pose.

BhimPul in Badrinath: The second major attraction of the town. It is a natural bridge built from a huge rock by the Pandava brother Bhima for his wife Draupadi. Lying in the interial corners of the town, it is believed that this was the place from where the Pandava brothers started their 'accent to heaven' (swargarohini).

Tapt Kund in Badrinath: It is the abode of Lord Agni and is famous for its medicinal properties. Before entering the Badrinath Temple, one has to take a holy dip in the Tapt Kund. The dip into the hot water of this kund is believed to be spiritually rejuvenating and relieves the sins.The temperature of the water of Kund is 45° Celsius and there are number of hot water springs on the banks of Alaknanda River.

Brahma Kapal in Badrinath: Brahma Kapal holds the mythical belief that it was at this place where lord Shiva relieved from his curse of killing Brahma. It is also believed that Brahma’s head had fallen off from Shiva’s trident with the blessing of Lord Vishnu here at BrahamaKapal. The Sheshnetra, Charanpaduka and the Mata Murthy temple are nearby attractions that hold religious significance.

Vasudhara Falls in Badrinath: A waterfall situated near Badrinath, in Uttarakhand, India. Total distance from Badrinath to Vasudhara is 9 km. The first 3 kilometers of badrinath to mana village is drivable road. Next 6 km is walkable trek from Mana village to Vasudhara waterfall.

Neelkanth in Badrinath: Is a major peak of the Garhwal division of the Himalayas, in the Uttarakhand region of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. Although substantially lower than the highest peaks of the region, it towers dramatically over the valley of the Alaknanda River.

Satopanth in Badrinath: It is a triangular lake located at 25 kilometers from Badrinath, on the height of 4,402 m above the sea level. It is surrounded by snow capped mountains. You have to keep cooked food while traveling to Satopanth as there is no provision of food at this place.

Mata Murti Temple in badrinath: Mata Murti Temple is situated at a distance of 3 km from Badrinath on the banks of River Alaknanda. This temple is dedicated to Mata Murti, the mother of two sons Narayana and Nara. There is a popular belief that the goddess has power of granting Vairagya to those who meditate sincerely in her presence. The temple is visited for worshipping Mata Murti on Ashtami, Shukla Tritiya and Chaturdashi.

Surya Kund in Badrinath: Surya Kund is situated beside Tapt Kund. A holy dip is taken in the hot water springs of this kund. NaradaKund which is situated close to the Surya Kund is also visited, as it is the place where the idol of Vishnu was discovered.

Charanpaduka in Badrinath: Charanpaduka is a beautiful rock, which holds the foot prints of Lord Vishnu. It is 3km away from Badrinath temple. The famed rock grabs the attention of the tourists all around the world. The uphill path is quite a risky and arduous one, the scenic ambiance and the holy darshan of the Lord footprints would retrieve all the ailments and troubles from the devotees.

By Air:- The nearest airport is Dehradun, which is about 312 kilometers away from Badrinath. It is well connected with all major cities of India. From the airport you can take taxi to reach there.

By Road:- Badrinath is well connected by road to all major cities of Uttarakhand. There is no direct bus between the cities of other state but it is well connected by Uttarakhand State Transport Bus to all major cities and towns of the State.

By Train:- Haridwar is the nearest railway station which is about 319 kilometers away from Badrinath. It is well connected with all major cities of India.
